Quantela in World Economic Forum 50th Annual Meet – Day 1

We are so glad to be a part of the World Economic Forum’s 50th Annual Meet happening in Davos this week.

Our CEO, Sridhar Gadhi, is joining the thought leaders from across the globe coming together to support the global, regional and national initiatives that generate positive impact for all the stakeholders and create a cohesive and sustainable world. This year’s forum is witnessing the global leaders and influencers like Greta Thunberg (Climate and Environmental Activist), Donald Trump (President of the United States of America), Satya Nadella (CEO Microsoft), Sundar Pichai (CEO Alphabet), Chuck Robbins (CEO Cisco), Angela Merkel (Federal Chancellor of Germany), Winnie Byanyima (United Nations Undersecretary-General; Executive Director UNAIDS), Christine Lagarde (President, European Central Bank), Deepika Padukone amongst others.

Quantela’s day 1 kick-started with a presentation from Sridhar on ‘Innovation for Impact: Integrating Data to Improve Cities’, where he spoke about how data integration can be a key to better urban life, what data can help to drive the various challenges vs what can be done with that data.

We had an elaborative discussion on the use case of environment wherein deploying environment sensor infrastructure in an entire city can prove to be very expensive. But the same can be easily implemented via data integration by leveraging various kinds of data like metrological data, temporal data, satellite data along with the data gathered through sensors on the ground. By creating a few models, pollution in any part of the city can be estimated. We implemented this use case in one of the cities where we were able to achieve 90%+ accuracy.

Sridhar went on explaining the most important aspect of any implementation: Outcomes. In the above eg, once we have the city-wide point by point view of pollution level, we can use it for various domains like we can do better plantation planning: there are specific plants which can help in reducing pollution if we know which pollutants are dominating at that location. Similarly, the data is also helpful to do hyperlocal root cause analysis of pollution with the help of point to point view of pollution level for the entire city.

Sridhar also discussed the use case of Kumbh Mela, Prayagraj: The Largest Ever Human Gathering in the World. He explained how augmented intelligence for crowd management helped the city authorities to organize such a huge event with zero mishaps, zero Incidents, and no security issues.

After his address, Sridhar attended a few informative sessions on various topics like scaling smart cities, empowering AI leadership, The Global Impact of a Tech Cold War, Scaling Smart cities etc. He was also part of many multilateral meetings with the key politicians, the top Corporate CEO’s and thought leaders from the industry.

Today, there was a keynote presentation from Donald Trump, President of the United States of America and another interesting one on Averting a Climate Apocalypse.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s updates!
